North Balgowlah House

This newly built home in North Balgowlah was designed with a focus on creating a sense of openness and space. With high ceilings on the top floor and an airy void above the kitchen and dining areas, the design creates a sense of grandeur while opening up the space to create a light-filled, expansive feel.

To complement the home’s lush natural surroundings, an earthy colour palette was chosen, complemented by natural materials such as timber and limestone. The exterior design continues this theme, with cascading greenery and crazy paving used to enrich the home's connection to its natural setting, whilst adding a unique, textured element to its exterior.

Sustainability was a priority for the client, so Deuchrass Architects ensured that the design incorporated several environmentally conscious features. Thoughtful design choices included high-performance glazing installed throughout to optimise energy efficiency, while careful orientation of spaces maximised natural light and airflow.
